Martin Solveig's version of Madan is so freakin' awesome but I swear it's Salif Keita's voice that I like as well as the lyrics. If you actually listen to the women sing it sounds like they're saying:

"orang dah nak balik orang dah nak balik orang dah nak balik dah orang dah nak balik, silakan lah balik silakan lah balik silakan lah balik lah silakan lah balik"

Hehe. It's funny cos it completely sounds Malay!

But I'm sure they weren't singing that.

So I tried to figure out what the lyrics was. I also wanted to translate it but its this language called Bambara which isn't exactly your typical widely spoken language. I mean, you can't just find it on freetranslation.com you know? Its actually a language from Mali which is where Salif Keita is from.

Anyways, this is what they're actually singing:

Ah, it makes sense now I guess. Wish I knew someone who spoke Bambara now. :)

And I must say the original version is pretty darn good too!
