Don't You Think It Is High Time...

...that we got rid of the Bumiputra rights?

Are the Malays ready?

Fuck, I think what Tun Dr. Mahathir said was right:

"We have tried to tell them if you depend on subsidies, you are going to be very weak. But they don’t seem to understand. We tell them if you use crutches, you will not be able to stand up. Throw away the crutches, stand up straight because you still have the capacity. I have talked about this thing and as a doctor I know very well the meaning of crutches but somehow or rather they want the easy way out. If I get an AP [car import permit] and I sell it and make some money, it’s all right, they say."

- Tun Dr. Mahathir

It's so sad.

There's currently a lot of racial tension in the air and the government is trying so hard to cover it up.

Heck, they're showing cute ads on tv about little kids having no problem with multi racialism and I guess the message conveys that we shouldn't too (at least I assume that's what the message is supposed to be).

I agree there isn't really a problem amongst kids but as we grow up, we see it is actually a problem.

Behind those colorful smiles are a lot of questions like:

*"why does my friend Aminah get to enter our local university easily when I got better results than her and I didn't get in?" asks Siew Lee.

*"why can't we question about the Bumiputra rights?" asks little Jayanthy.

*"how come you can buy property cheaper than our neighbors Uncle Ho and Uncle Chandran papa?" asks little Ahmad.

It is apparent that Bumiputras have more economic and education advantages than other races. And yet, the Chinese are still at the top.

And then there's the Indians. And not to forget, the minorities.

What about them? Maybe they are as weak as Malays? Maybe they don't think it's fair that Malays are privileged with this Bumiputra rights while they are left with nothing? Do you think they should be given equal rights? Do you agree with the recent demonstration and the point they were trying to prove?

........................................................................................<--insert answer here

I know what the government is trying to do is to avoid another May 13th but maybe it is high time we got rid of the Bumiputra Rights?

I mean, what are the Malays afraid of?

Equality?

What kind of pahlawan are we if we do not rise to the challenge of competing with others?

Why do we need a fucking safety net when the others don't have one?

One shouldn't walk on crutches forever especially since those legs are actually functional.

I mean, I don't think the Malays are paralyzed. We're just a bit dare I say, lazy?

Only wanting the easy way out?

So perhaps getting rid of these rights will become a better incentive for the Malays to want to work hard right?

Why can't the Malays work as hard as the other races anyway?

Why?

oh my gosh.uncle chandaran papa???????only you naz.ONLY YOU.so fuckin random.and funny.well,to abolish the entire bumiputera status would take more than a lifetime to do so.cause the word has generated such a deep meaning in which (no offence to anyone) the malays have adopted as their rightful priviledges.how do u change something that has been embedded so deeply into one's perception?sigh.
