London

So I finally have the time to park my ass and write about my recent holiday.

About fucking time!

HI!

Anywhow, for those of you who had no idea, I was in London for a month as a birthday present to Ili my best friend from her family and friends. LUCKY ME! Well, lucky her too cos at the end of the trip she didn't really want me to go home. Hehe.

So here I am back in KL. I must admit I do miss London. But I have a feeling I might be returning there soon enough.....(stay tuned)

So how was London?

My standard answer was "good, good".

Of course it was! from the food to the people to the weather to the silly advertisements to the shopping to the FOOD (I mentioned that didn't I?) to the Tubes to the clubs to the tourist attractions to the music! It was awesome.

London is massive. You need more than a month to cover everything. But I think I covered enough to know how to get on tubes by myself.

Things I really liked:

1) Thames Festival

It was so fugging fun. They call it London's end of summer party. There was music, colored beer, and loads of interesting things happening. Definitely something you shouldn't miss if you missed the Notting Hill Carnival.

2) Portobello Market

Something every tourist should probably go to. It's basically a market with loads of antiques. But towards the end of the antique row you'll find individual designers selling all the interesting things like clothes, jewellery, bags, etc.

And if you have time go to Hummingbird. Two words : Red Velvet.

It never used to be as popular as it is now. Some people have told me to keep this place a secret from others but seriously, why be stingy with knowledge of the whereabouts of an orgasmic cake?

So go to Hummingbird. No regrets, I'll tell you that for free.

3) Camden Market

I fucking love this place. It's got character. Punks and all that. It's really another place to shop. A little bit more dodgy but hey! It's still awesome. And the food there looked amazing. I'm trying to remember why we didn't eat there and oh yeah, too crowded. But still, worth a go.

4) Primark

Shopping haven. So fucking cheap. Even to Malaysia's standards it's like, dirt cheap.

5) Lord of The Rings The Musical

The set was amazing. It was by far the most overwhelming set I've seen.

The special effects were cool too.

And the fact that we got the tickets for so cheap (20 pounds inclusive of dinner and show) was awesome! Thanks to Lastminute.com! Yay!

6) London Eye

It's something every tourist should go to. Go in the mornings where its less crowded. And best to book the tickets online. And make sure you stand at the right spot for the souvinier picture!

It was worth my money. Definitely better than the Eye of Malaysia. Hehe.

7) Covent Garden

Ah such a quaint area. It's streets are cobble stoned filled with shops, cafes and fancy restaurants and you can hear opera music playing from a distance.

Good place to chill.

8) The Famous Flat 7

Dzameer and Dzaeman's place. Hehe. Poker was fun indeed.

9) Nottinghill Arts Club

I like this place. It's so artsy fartsy type. They have art exhibitions, live music and when it's time for the deejay to spin he's spinning awesome music like funk and boogie. I wish KL had something as eclectic as that.

10) Road Trip

Since my dad was still in London when I arrived, he decided to take me and a few friends on a road trip! We went to Windsor (where coincidentally the Queen was in), Oxford, Bicester, Woucester, and Malvern.

It was awesome. A beautiful day indeed. If you're going to be in London, you should also try going outside London. The country is breathtaking. Nothing like KL especially since it's cold oh God I love the cold.

11) Madame Tussauds

I never thought I'd have so much fun in a wax museum. Nuff said.

12) Mind The Gap

I love the London Underground. There's something about it that isn't like any place in the world. From the dirtiness to the smell to my favourite phrase "Mind The Gap". I don't know why but that phrased tickled me. Hehe.

13) British Television

Oh man, I miss watching Countdown. It's quite an addictive show. Oh and I also loved watching The Real Deal. It's a silly show about people who sell random crap. It fascinates me that people pay so much to buy these things.

And I also miss my Big Fat Nothing advertisement by Capital One. I don't why I found it incredibly hillarious to see 4 big black man in electric blue suits merging out of a swimming pool singing a jingle that says "you get a big fat nothing.." hehe.
